Schmidt & Co., (Hong Kong) Limited re-registered in Hong Kong, becoming head office of Schmidt Group of Companies, selling Leica camera, scientific and medical equipment in the Far East.

The Group diversified its product portfolio to electronic, industrial and computer related product lines, which now form a significant part of the Schmidt Group.

The first large Vietnam project was undertaken, the total equipment supply and installation for Hai Phong Children Hospital in North Vietnam financed by “Deutche Caritas & Hilfsaktion fuer Vietnam”.
Schmidt Hong Kong’s involvement in technical assistance programs to Vietnam since 1966 was instrumental.
